Response to comments mocking Gus Walz

Kate Doyle, Candidate for Chicago Board of Education, District 2, issues the following statement in response to Amundsen volleyball coach Amy Jacobson's comments mocking Gus Walz:

"I am disgusted by Ms. Jacobson's abhorrent comments mocking Gus Walz. As a former special education teacher and mother of a future Amundsen student, this issue is personal to me. Though I am pleased that Ms. Jacobson has stepped down from her role as coach, this does not go far enough. I hope Ms. Jacobson uses this as an opportunity to educate herself and practice acceptance and inclusion in the future."
