Doyle running in far North Side district in first-ever school board elections

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO, Ill. – Kate Doyle announces that she has filed over 4,800 nominating petition signatures for Chicago Board of Education, District 2, about 80% of which were collected by volunteers. Doyle has been endorsed by Northside Democracy for America (NDFA), and is the only candidate in the race so far to receive the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Distinction. Her campaign has raised over $23,000 to date.

“I am excited to jump into this historic race,” said Doyle, 35. “After speaking to thousands of neighbors, it is apparent that they desire independent, progressive leadership, and that is exactly what I will bring. As a former public school teacher, non-profit founder, and community leader, I am committed to using my diverse perspectives to listen to and serve the needs of District 2.”

Doyle is the founder and CEO of KindWork, a non-profit that helps low-income young adults become exposed to and gain employment in the tech industry. She also serves as a workforce development nonprofit consultant and as Vice President of the Greater Rockwell Organization. Kate lives in the 40th Ward with her husband, Lou, and 2.5-year-old son Arthur, who will soon attend their neighborhood CPS schools.

Ten school board members will be voted on in the November 5, 2024 General Election, one from each of 10 districts. District 2 spans the far North Side, including all or part of Rogers Park, West Ridge, Edgewater, Uptown, Lincoln Square, and North Park. Learn more about Doyle at www.katedoyleforchicago.com.
